This
Sariska Tiger Reserve offers protection to birds
and faunal species as well. Sariska Tiger Reserve
was actually created by a maharaja. The name of
this national park is after the name of god Keoladeo,
Lord Shiva. This park is nesting native water- birds
as well as migratory water birds and riverside birds.
In this small wildlife park more than 300 species
of birds are found. Migratory birds that come from
as far away as Siberia and Central Asia to spend
their winters in Sariska Tiger Reserve, are the
major attractions to the tourists visiting the park.
Although, Sariska
Tiger Reserve is open throughout the year but still
time period between August-November is the best
for visiting. There are particular forest tracks,
which can comfortably be covered on foot or on a
cycle. Rickshaws are also available on hire. Bird
watching depends greatly on the right season, timing,
and above all patience, so its better to visit the
sanctuary during the visiting time duration only.
