Jain Temples Tour

Besides the magnificence of the group of Dilwara temples, there are some other Jain shrines in Rajasthan to visit. Vimal Vasahi Temple This temple is engraved completely out of white marble. The temple is dedicated to the 1st Jain Tirthankara (teacher or guide) Adi Nath. The temple rests in an opencourtyard enclosed by a corridor, which has plentiful chambers containing smaller idols of the Tiranthakaras

Luna Vasahi (Shri Nemi Nathji temple)
The Luna Vashi temple is dedicated to the 22nd Tirthankara Shri Nemi Nathji. The major hall or Rang mandap marks a central dome from which hangs a bigornamental pendent attributing detailed carving.

Pittalhar Temple
The main metal used in the statue is 'Pital' (brass), thatís why it is called Pittalhar. A huge metal statue of Rishab Dev (Adinath), emit in five metals, which is established in the temple. Mahaveer Temple and Parshvanath temple are also amongst the popular Jain shrines

The Sachiyamata temple
Also remainsvivacious on a near by hill. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga, which has now become a significant shrine for Jains. The earlier temples are miniature shrineswhich height only eight feet. Among these complicated carved red stone buildings, three are devoted to the union of lord Vishnu and Shiva. Foreign scholars likePercy Brown and James Burgess have considered these temples as masterpieces of architecture.

Ossian Temple
At the periphery of the Thar Desert Ossion is situated. Though we do not hear much about this city, yet it is one of the place, which holds more than a hundred Hindu temples, and Jain temples, which belong to medieval time. Although with the passage of time most of the temples have decayed but amongst the oldest, the Sun Temple still stands to sing its glory. It is so beautifully carved that it is often compared with the Sun Temple of Konark.
