The fort is considered to be one of the earliest in Rajasthan. Visit Chittaurgarh, its here where the fantasies come to life. Rajput ruler, Rana Kumbha built the Vijay Stambh (Victory Tower) to honor his victory over Mahmud Khilji; Vijay Stambh is the most magnificent structure within the Chittorgarh Fort.

Notable remnants of that epoch still stand to invoke the romance of a long past era. The main places of tourist interest around the fort are the two towers known as the 'Kirti Stambh' or Tower of Fame and the 'Vijay Stambh'.

This tower can even be seen from the town, which is located below the fort. The Kirti Stambh is a seven-storeyed narrow structure. Vijay Stambh is the most imposing structure within the Chittorgarh Fort.

The Tower is nine storeyed and is decked with sculptures of Hindu deities and legends from the Ramayana and the Mahabharata with names given below each sculpture.
