Amir Khusrau, the great Persian poet portrayed his devotion on ajmer Sharif by saying, The dust of your doorstep; is just the right thing to apply, if Surmah(kohl powder) does not show its beauty in the eye. The atmosphere of the Dargah is equitable, which welcomes devotees from every cast, creed and sect.

It fills every heart with divine bliss. In the center of the complex, lies the mazaar or grave, which stirs with the prayers of the devotees. The crown at the top is made of solid gold and the emperor Jahangi donated the railings around, which are of gold. You can see the mazaar confined by silver railings.

The mazaar is plated with the velvet curtains and one of them is from Mecca. The fragrance of the roses fills the ambience and adds up to the divine atmosphere. This is one of the pilgrimage, which, even Akbar along with his son Jahangir walked in. Within the shrine it is compulsory to cover the head and remove the shoes. Devotees of all cast and creed are welcomed in this shrine.
